Mission and VisionThe mission of Rio Grande ATP is to provide substance abuse treatment, behavioral health services, and access to supportive services, in order to enable men and women to live productive, drug-free lives�una vida buena y sana.
Our vision is to be a connection point for substance abuse services and resources throughout north central New Mexico, building a network of healthy, vibrant, recovery-friendly communities. Our services are culturally competent, family-based, and client-focused, and we are committed to providing solutions that use natural and social support systems.
Rio Grande maintains a commitment to sound, evidence-based treatment, incorporating new methods as they are tested, and incorporating them into established models. We add elements of cultural competence and approaches to healing and wellness from the traditions of the communities we serve.
HistoryRio Grande ATP was founded in Embudo, New Mexico, in 1978, to provide substance abuse treatment using successful program models pioneered at Hazelden. Over three decades, we have provided substance abuse services across the spectrum from detoxification through residential, outpatient, and extended care.
In partnership with Siete del Norte Community Development Corporation, Rio Grande has operated facilities in Embudo, Mora, Las Vegas, and Taos, New Mexico. Currently, Rio Grande serves the counties of Rio Arriba, Taos, San Miguel, Mora, Los Alamos and Santa Fe with outpatient services centered in Las Vegas and Taos.
Executive DirectorBeth Scott has been the Executive Director since January 2015, and has been with Rio Grande ATP since May 2013. She comes with an extensive background in Behavioral Health and Business Administration.
